Galactic Builders is a challenging new puzzle game by Tomatillo that tests your problem-solving skills while keeping you amused and entertained. Not only is the game fun to play, but it’s incredibly addicting.
If you’ve played popular puzzle games like Angry Birds, Galactic Builders will be a familiar sight. The concept of the game is to solve puzzles by placing objects on the screen in order to help the lost aliens navigate to their spaceship and return home.
When you first begin playing there’s a helpful tutorial that guides you through the basics of Galactic Builders and what you need to do in order to play. Personally I found the tutorial to be very helpful, but the game itself isn’t difficult to figure out. Galactic Builders is challenging enough to make you think but not so hard that you give up in frustration.
Like most level-based puzzle games, Galactic Builders gets progressively harder as you reach higher levels. Not only do puzzles become more difficult and complex, but you’ll also encounter new tools to use in order to help the aliens return home.
One of the things I really like about Galactic Builders is that it gives you a ton of control over the puzzle environment, from freely dragging and dropping objects to being able to rotate them. What this means is that there’s more than one way to solve each puzzle, which greatly increases your chances of solving it successfully.
As with most puzzle games like Galactic Builders, you earn a star rating based on how quickly you complete the level. Each level has a timer that counts down from two minutes, so you have to make sure you get to work quickly in order to achieve the best score. Usually you’re limited to how many of each object you can place, as well.
When it comes to numbers, Galactic Builders features over 100 levels spread across 3 different worlds. The game is free to download, but it only comes with one world you can play. In order to unlock the other two worlds you have to purchase the full version upgrade, which is $0.99.
In terms of value, I think Galactic Builders is definitely worth the full upgrade price, especially if you truly enjoy playing the game. Something that really sets it apart from the rest of the games on the App Store is that you’re not bottlenecked into upgrading by being bombarded with annoying ads. Essentially Galactic Builders gives you a chance to experience everything the game offers without forcing you to upgrade.
Overall, Galactic Builders is an incredibly fun and addicting puzzle game for iPhone and iPad. The graphics are great, the concept is fresh and new, and the possibilities are endless for additional worlds and levels. I highly recommend giving this game a try!
Galactic Builders requires iOS 8.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus.
