Puzzles are a fantastic way for kids to learn and build important critical thinking skills. One of the best types of puzzles is matching, which helps to strengthen a child’s memory. Kidz Match is a great matching game that features various puzzles with various educational themes.
One of the first things I noticed about Kidz Match, developed by Gomathy Shankaran, is that the main menu is very organized and easy to navigate. This is always an important factor when it comes to apps that are designed for kids. Everything that the app offers is easily accessible, which is definitely a plus.
Kidz Match offers four different kinds of match puzzles: body parts, alphabet, mix, and numbers. Unlike many other matching puzzle games, a new random puzzle is generated every time, which means kids won’t get bored because they have to solve the same puzzle over and over again.
The three primary categories are self-explanatory, while the Mix Match category is a combination of a bug match puzzle and a profession puzzle. This adds a nice variety to the app, as it gives kids even more puzzles to choose from and additional topics to learn about.
One great feature of Kidz Match is narration. Every time an item is revealed, the name of it is spoken. Therefore, I definitely recommend enabling sound and probably using headphones with the app.
Also, Kidz Match supports a variety of narrative language for users all over the world. Language supported are: English, Spanish, French, Finnish, Swedish and German. The language can be changed via the Settings tab in the main menu.
It’s worth noting that Kidz Match is completely free of in-app purchases and advertisements, which is always a good thing. Also, there are a few external links to other apps by the developer, but anything that leads outside of Kidz Match is protected by a math question that changes every time.
Overall, Kidz Match is a great matching puzzle game for iPhone and iPad. I really like the fact that there’s a wide variety of puzzles to complete and that they change ever time a new puzzle is started.
Plus, the language and narration feature is perfect for young kids who are learning both native and foreign languages.
When it comes to price, $2.99 is very reasonable for Kidz Match seeing as it’s universally compatible with iPhone and iPad. You definitely get what you pay for, which is plenty of matching puzzles and content for kids to enjoy.
Kidz Match requires iOS 6.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
