DPart Is a Handy Travel Companion for Disney World, but Needs Improvement

Disney World is an incredible place that’s the perfect destination for kids and adults alike. DPart – Park Bus Schedule & Hours for Disney World is an app by Chris Bick that aims to help make a trip to Disney World as fun and easy as possible.

As you can probably imagine, there are tons of apps and tools designed to make Disney World as accessible as possible for parents and visitors to the park. DPart contains many tools and features for visitors. From helpful maps to park hours and a cool countdown timer, there’s plenty to check out.

Using DPart is fairly easy and I like the fact that everything is laid out in an organized manner. You can even edit the bottom navigation bar to include categories and features that are important to you.

This is a feature that’s often overlooked in other apps, but it’s definitely helpful when the developer gives the user a bit more control.

One of the features of DPart is a trip planner, but I had an incredibly difficult time using it. There are options to add dates, but the keyboard doesn’t collapse and actually obstructs the text form. Also, the “choose” option for selecting a date visually doesn’t seem to work.

There’s a feature for viewing bus schedules around the park, as well, but I couldn’t seem to find any routes that could show up in the app. I double-checked one of the official bus sites for the park and found valid routes that didn’t seem to be supported in DPart.

Another useful feature of DPart that does seem to work is the hours information for locations around the park. I also double-checked this and everything seems to be in working order and accurate. I definitely suggest using multiple sources for hours of operation just to be safe.

When it comes to value, $1.99 is definitely a steep price to pay for an app that contains info that’s usually available for free. There are helpful tools such as easy access to hours and a map that’s useful for getting around the park, but that’s about it.

DPart definitely has potential when it comes to being a go-to travel tool for visitors to Disney World, but it needs to have a few kinks worked out beforehand.

DPart – Park Bus Schedule & Hours for Disney World requires iOS 6.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

A small administrative fee was paid by the developer for publication of this review, which did not influence the reviewer’s opinion

Needs Work

DPart has good intentions as a helpful iPhone app for Disney World visitors, but unfortunately a buggy interface takes away from an otherwise positive experience. With a bit of work, this could definitely be a go-to app for visitors.
