Create Funny Video Selfies With FaceDubb for iPhone

Selfies are all the rage lately. From selfie sticks to countless apps that help you get the perfect shot, it’s tough to believe just how popular this photo technique has become. FaceDubb is a free selfie app for iPhone that puts a twist on selfies by allowing you to create short videos with audio voice overs.

Developed by Mike Walton and released on May 2nd, FaceDubb is already rising in popularity as a great way to take video selfies and send them to friends and family. Not only is it fun to use, but there’s virtually no learning curve whatsoever for new users.

To begin making dubbed selfie clips with FaceDubb you’ll have to create an account with the service, which only takes a minute or two. Next, browse around the various categories and find which audio dub you’d like to make a selfie with.

One thing I really like about FaceDubb is that there are tons of categories and sound clips to choose from. Luckily everything is organized and you can use the search function if you’re looking for something very specific.

Once you’ve figured out which audio clip you’d like to use, tap the “Make a Dubb” button and record your selfie. The audio bit plays in the background and the video clip is only as long as the sound clip, so it might take a few tries to get the results you’re looking for.

When you’re satisfied with your selfie masterpiece, FaceDubb lets you save your creation and share it with friends. One awesome feature that the app offers is the ability to save videos to your iPhone quickly and easily.

In terms of usability, I didn’t have any problems with creating video clips and FaceDubb. The app does provide a short tutorial for those who might be confused, but I really like the fact that it’s highly intuitive and self-explanatory. It might take a bit of time to get use to timing your clips correctly, but going back and redoing a video is darn near effortless.

Seeing as FaceDubb is free to download from the App Store, it does come with a few restrictions. For example, certain categories are inaccessible unless you watch a short ad. By no means is this an intrusion or difficult thing to do, as ads aren’t actively displayed around the app. Users do have the option of unlocking everything at once via in-app purchase.

Overall, FaceDubb is a pretty fun iPhone app that gives users tons of flexibility and options when it comes to creating short selfie video clips. I really like the amount of audio clips that are available, as well as the fact that users can choose to upload their own audio from their iPhone’s iTunes library.

FaceDubb requires iOS 7.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
