It’s Killing Time Is an Immersive Interactive Story App for iOS

One of the things I love the most about the iPhone and the iPad is the fact that it’s an incredible reading device that has the capabilities to bring books to life. It’s Killing Time is an interactive story app by Choice of Games LLC that takes readers on an incredible journey which lets them choose their character’s destiny.

While this certainly isn’t the first “choose your own adventure” type of book, It’s Killing Time takes the concept to a whole new level. The story itself evolves over time and changes based on the options you select when presented with choices to make.

One of the really unique things about It’s Killing Time is the fact that it does not include any photos, illustrations, sounds, or other media. The app is strictly text, which really forces the reader to immerse themselves in the story in order to make important decisions for their character.

Something I’ve noticed about books that follow the same format as It’s Killing Time is that they tend to be a little cheesy and boring after a while. I can honestly say that this book is anything but boring. I found myself periodically going back to my iPhone in order to continue reading even while I wasn’t studying the app for this review.

It’s Killing Time features a great storyline, as well, and takes readers on a journey as a hitman or hitwoman who embarks on a series of missions. Each choice determines the personality of your character, as well as their fate and how the story progresses.

You can choose to make your character righteous by selecting options that don’t put innocent lives at risk or you can opt to make your character a ruthless killer who lets nothing get in his or her way.

As you progress through the story, you can check out your character’s stats and see cool details such as their skill level for things like hand-to-hand combat, ranged weaponry, and more. You can also see your character’s personality traits, number of people killed, and so on. You can also earn achievements via Game Center.

If price is something that might deter you from checking out It’s Killing Time, I can honestly say that $3.99 goes a very long way when it comes to this app.

You’re definitely getting more out of it than would normally find in a regular paperback book (for a much lower price). Plus you can’t beat the fact that the app is universally compatible with iPhone and iPad.

Overall, It’s Killing Time is a must-have interactive storybook if you enjoy immersing yourself in plots and relying heavily on your imagination.

It’s Killing Time requires iOS 6.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus.

A small administrative fee was paid by the developer for publication of this review, which did not influence the reviewer’s opinion
