Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S” Is One of the Best Educational Apps Available

Here at iOS App Lists, we love educational apps and games for kids. Whether they’re learning the alphabet or exploring the world around them, the iPad is an incredible teaching tool. iPad books and apps are a great way for kids to learn, and Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S” is definitely one of the best interactive education apps we’ve reviewed on the site.

Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S” aims to teach kids how to perfect the sound of the letter S. This is accomplished through a variety of exercises and games. One of the things that makes Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S” incredibly unique is that games are highly interactive and incorporate the use of the iPad’s microphone and camera for various activities.

This includes blowing into the microphone to propel a balloon through the air to imitating Miss Snake while she teaches kids how to properly make the “Ssss” sound.

Personally I’ve never encountered an iPad app that took advantage of external input such as the microphone and camera, and I think it’s awesome. Kids will love being able to see themselves in the camera, and the interactive aspects will keep them involved in Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S”.

When it comes to numbers, Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S” features 5 interactive mirror models (where the front-facing camera is used) and 8 original games. In terms of design and navigation, the app is gorgeous to look at.

All artwork is hand painted and pretty much everything on each page is interactive. It’s clear that an incredible amount of detail was put into Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S” to make it a truly fun education app.

Also, if kids happen to exit Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S” for any reason, the app automatically pauses and they can resume where they left off or start from the beginning. This is great for kids who have a tendency to close apps, as parents can easily reopen Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S” so they can pick up where they left off.

It’s worth noting that Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S” is free of in-app purchases and advertisements, which is always great for kids apps. There are no links to social media, external websites, or anything of the sort.

Lastly, I do want to mention that Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S” is a very large download (roughly 500MB). Therefore, be sure you have enough space on your iPad before purchasing/downloading the app.

Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S” can be downloaded from the App Store for $4.99, which might seem high in price for a children’s app. However, the quality of content is second to none, and the amount of work that has gone into developing Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S” clearly shows. It’s an incredibly immersive app that’s full of educational content that will help kids perfect the sounds of the letter S.

Junganew: A Herd of Sounds “S” requires iOS 7.0 or later and is compatible with iPad.
