Kidzfun-Select is a fun and educational app for iPhone and iPad. Featuring plenty of different activities for kids to complete, this is a must-have for parents who are looking for a variety of things for kids to do in one app.
If you’ve read other reviews of kids apps here on iOS App Lists, you’re aware of how much we love featuring them on the site. It’s always fun to see what kind of innovative ideas developers have when it comes to keeping kids entertained while making sure they’re learning something new and honing important skills.
Kidzfun-Select, developed by Gomathy Shankaran, features four different activities for kids to enjoy: alphabets, numbers, songs, and stories. Each activity is straightforward and easy to understand, so kids shouldn’t have any problems with navigating the app.
The alphabet section of Kidzfun-Select takes kids through all 26 letters and teaches them about words and objects that begin with each letter. One of the things I do want to mention is that Kidzfun-Select focuses very heavily on narration, so I definitely recommend enabling audio and using headphones in order to take advantage of everything that the app offers.
When playing with numbers, kids will learn about various mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and equations that are used to solve for numbers 1 through 10. This is a great way for kids who are learning basic math to visualize equations and objects that represent them.
Songs and stories are embedded videos that can be played within Kidzfun-Select. Just like the alphabet and numbers, songs and stories are also narrated.
It’s definitely worth mentioning that Kidzfun-Select supports a wide variety of subjects for the alphabet and numbers, as well as songs and stories and other languages.
Alphabet number subjects include animals, fruits and vegetables, things and emotions, flowers, and countries/number operations. Song and Story Languages include English, Spanish, Hindi, Chinese, Arabic, French, and Tamil. Settings such as alphabet subject and story language can be changed in the Settings menu at the bottom of the screen.
When it comes to ads and in-app purchases, Kidzfun-Select is free of advertisements and external links are protected by a math equation which must be solved by parents in order to access anything outside the app. The only in-app purchase is to unlock countries in the alphabet section, which can be done for $1.99.
Overall, Kidzfun-Select features plenty of educational content and fun things for kids to do. I really like how well the app is organized and the fact that kids shouldn’t have any problems with finding their way around.
I definitely recommend checking the app out if you’re looking for a variety of activities that are both fun and educational.
Kidzfun-Select requires iOS 6.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
