The infamous romantic holiday, Valentine’s Day, is upon us once again. Romance shouldn’t be something that comes around once a year, though, and LavYu is an app for iPhone that’ll help you profess your feelings in various languages all year long.
When a cute quip just won’t cut it, LavYu makes it easy to access a variety of phrases and words in 14 different languages.
When you first open the app, you’re greeted with a detailed overview of how the app works. It’s pretty straightforward, and you’ll have fun exploring everything LavYu offers.The app includes a brief visual tutorial to show new users how to use it, but it’s certainly not complicated to use and navigate. You’ll be learning and speaking phrases in no time.
LavYu features words and phrases in Arabic, Chinese, Croatian, English (US), Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Persian, Polish, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.
LavYu offers users a few ways to use the app. Simply choose which of the 14 available languages you want to listen to phrases in, then tap the ear button below the phrase selection window to listen to a pronunciation of the word or phrase in the chosen language.
You can practice reciting the phrase and even record yourself speaking the phrase, which can be sent to your special someone via email and SMS. Not only is this a cool way to get a bit of schooling in other languages, but it also requires a bit of effort to pronounce the phrase correctly.
Initially I was skeptical about the pronunciation quality of LavYu seeing as there are a ton of languages to choose from, but I found each language to be very easy to understand.
Lastly, if you have a suggestion for a word or phrase and you’d like to see it added to LavYu, the app features a built-in “wishbox” that lets you quickly and easily suggest phrases to the developer for possible inclusion in the next update.
LavYu can be downloaded from the App Store for the very fair price of free, and unlocking access to all 14 languages will cost a mere $0.99.
Overall, if you’re looking for a neat way to impress your valentine, LavYu is worth checking out. It’s also a great app for learning romantic phrases at any time of the year.
