Lexicon Omega Is an Incredibly Challenging Word Game for iOS

Word games are definitely fun to play, and there certainly isn’t a shortage of them available on the App Store. From crosswords to word search and more, there’s plenty of variety. Developed by Nestor BorgoLexicon Omega is a word game for iPhone and iPad that is hard to play, but lots of fun.

Usually I’m a bit tough on games that are difficult, but Lexicon Omega wasn’t created to be easy. This is a word game lover’s dream, mainly because it’s so tough to play. Therefore, I’m getting the fair warning out of the way right off the bat by saying this is a game that will challenge every ounce of word knowledge within you.

Lexicon Omega consists of four game modes: Blitz, Infinity, Zen, and Saga. When you first start playing the game, only Blitz and Infinity are available. You have to reach a certain high score in Blitz in order to unlock Zen, and reach a particular level in Infinity to unlock Saga.

Each of the four game modes has its own online leaderboard via Game Center, which I think is pretty cool and unique. It’s definitely a great feature in Lexicon Omega and makes it easy for players to compete in the mode they enjoy playing the most.

When it comes to controls, Lexicon Omega is very simple. In order to create words, you must tap and slide your finger across the letters on the game board. When the word is made, release your finger. Depending on the game mode, correct words will add to percentage completion, overall points, and more.

Lexicon Omega will likely take a bit of time to get used to, but I really like the fact that the four playing modes are pretty different from each other. This keeps the game fresh and interesting, and it also ensures that players will likely find their favorite mode to challenge themselves.

Word game gurus will be happy to know that Lexicon Omega uses the official Scrabble vocabulary, which is definitely a must for all serious word games. Also, Lexicon Omega supports 17 different languages. That number is certainly nothing short of astounding, and it means that players from all around the world can enjoy this challenging game.

Overall, Lexicon Omega is a must-have game if you enjoy a good challenge. The best part is that it’s completely free and even though there are ads on the menu, they don’t interfere with gameplay at all.

Lexicon Omega requires iOS 8.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus.
