SavelGo is a social commerce app for iPhone and iPad that makes it easy to get in touch with sellers, share items, and leave feedback.
Created by SavelGo, the goal of SavelGo is to help shoppers find the best deals and communicate with fellow users by leaving reviews on products. The app can even put you in direct contact with sellers, which is an awesome feature.
One thing I noticed is that it’s unclear as to where the listings for items actually come from in SavelGo. I could see if it functioned like popular deal sites such as SlickDeals by allowing users to submit their own deals for the community, but I couldn’t find anywhere to do so.
Personally I really like the fact that you can create a wishlist within SavelGo and save items for purchasing later. This is perfect for times when you find something you really like but you’re not ready to buy it just yet.
SavelGo allows you to buy items within the app itself, which is very unique. There are plenty of payment methods offered, from PayPal to credit card and even funds from your SavelGo account.
SavelGo even gives you $5 for free when you sign up to use the app, so it’s clear that they’re encouraging you to try the native payment service.
A simple recommendation I have for the developers of SavelGo is to add a brief tutorial or walkthrough for new users so they’re not confused by the navigation layout. This is also a great opportunity to show off extra features that new users might otherwise miss.
When it comes down to it, SavelGo seems to be a good shopping app. However, it doesn’t seem like the featured products change very often (the same products I saw for this review are the same in the App Store screenshots).
SavelGo definitely has a lot of potential to be a fantastic shopping app and social commerce platform, but it needs a bit of work before it can reach that point and truly stand out from the rest of the shopping apps available.
