Who we are
iOS App Lists (iosapplists.com) publishes app reviews and guides for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what you can do about it. You can reach us any time at webmaster@iosapplists.com.
What we collect
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-ZNXWEGNF33, installed through Google Site Kit) and Jetpack Stats. These use cookies and similar technologies to record pages visited, referring site, browser and device type, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Advertising. Google AdSense serves the ads on this site. Google and its partner vendors use cookies, including the DoubleClick DART cookie, to serve ads based on your prior visits here and to other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- Forms. When you submit a review request, an article request, or the contact form, we store what you provide: your name, email address, app name and App Store link, device preference, promo code, and your message. These submissions are stored in our website database so we can fulfill and keep a record of your order.
- Comments. When you leave a comment we collect the name, email address, and IP address you submit, along with your browser user agent string. Comments are handled by wpDiscuz and screened for spam by Akismet, a service of Automattic.
- Email subscriptions. If you subscribe to new post notifications, your email address is held by Automattic (Jetpack) to deliver them. Every notification includes an unsubscribe link.
- Payments. Paid review and article orders are paid through Stripe. Stripe processes your card details directly. We never see or store your full card number.
- Security and hosting. Our host (SiteGround) and our security plugins (Wordfence, Jetpack Protect) log IP addresses and request details to block attacks, limit login attempts, and keep the site available.
Cookies and your choices
We use cookies for analytics and advertising, and third parties named above set their own. You can:
- Block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
- Turn off personalized advertising in Google My Ad Center.
- Opt out of Google Analytics entirely with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Opt out of third-party vendor cookies for many advertisers at aboutads.info or Your Online Choices in Europe.
Blocking cookies will not stop you reading the site, though some features may behave differently.
How we use data
- To operate, secure, and improve the site.
- To fulfill the review and article requests you submit, and to contact you about your order.
- To serve advertising and measure how it performs.
- To send new post notifications, if you asked for them.
We do not use your data to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on: contract, to deliver a review or article you have paid for; consent, for analytics and advertising cookies and for email subscriptions, which you may withdraw at any time; and legitimate interests, to keep the site secure and to understand how it is used.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only with the service providers who make the site work:
- Google (Analytics, AdSense, Site Kit, Reader Revenue Manager): analytics and advertising.
- Automattic (Jetpack Stats, Jetpack Protect, Jetpack Subscriptions, Akismet): statistics, security, subscriptions, and spam filtering.
- Stripe: payment processing.
- SiteGround: web hosting.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so.
California residents
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request a copy of it, to request its deletion, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
An important note about advertising. We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. However, serving personalized advertising through Google can involve disclosing identifiers and browsing activity to advertising partners, and California law treats that as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you would rather we did not, turn off personalized ads in Google My Ad Center, use your browser’s Global Privacy Control signal, or email us and we will help.
EEA and UK residents
You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how we process it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
How long we keep data
- Form submissions and order records: kept for up to three years, so we can answer questions about work we have done and meet record-keeping obligations. Ask us and we will delete yours sooner.
- Comments: kept indefinitely so conversation threads stay readable, unless you ask for removal.
- Email subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics: retained according to Google’s and Automattic’s own retention settings.
- Security logs: typically weeks, not years.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our providers named above process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where data is transferred out of the EEA or the UK, those providers rely on mechanisms such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Sponsored content
Some reviews and articles on this site are paid placements. They are always labeled as sponsored, and our opinions and ratings remain our own. See our disclosure page for details. Paying for a review does not give a developer access to any visitor data.
Links to other sites
We link to the App Store, to developer websites, and to other third-party pages. Once you follow a link, that site’s privacy policy governs, not ours.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
